Introduction

I've been an active member on Steemit for about 1,5 years at the time of this writing. For a long time I've only been using the Steemit interface to write my articles on. I've been using the Steemit website on mobile too for a long time to cast votes, leave comments and make transfers. At a certain point I saw a lot of comments below my articles stating they were made using Partiko. When I read nothing but good comments about the Partiko app, I decided to download the Partiko App in the Play store and give it a try. You can also download the app for iPhone using Partiko App on iTunes.

Partiko is completely free to use

I think a lot of Steemit members are using Steemit on their mobile devices, and I've read quite some times that people didn't fancy the Steemit website on mobile, and I agree. What has kept me from using some other DApps, is the percentage they take from your earnings. I don't want to argue on this matter in this review, but I do want to mention that I feel it's a huge advantage for Partiko that they don't take a part of your earnings whenever you use their app to publish your content. A lot of users may have very small earnings, and I can imagine that they don't want a third party to have a cut of their already small earnings.

First impressions count

I must say that the Partiko Logo is nice, it's simple but fresh due to the blue and white colouring. A good or a bad logo doesn't mean that I will just skip trying something, but I must admit that an appealing logo does help to convince me to give a new app a try. In this case the logo has had a positive influence on my decision to download the app.

Getting started with the Partiko App

I use Partiko on Android, so this review is based on my userexperience on an Android device. Once you've downloaded the app, you can sign in using your Steemit account keys with Steemconnect.
Once signed in, you'll immediately notice that Partiko has a very user-friendly interface and it's easy to use. You will not be lost in a huge menu with options, what you see is what you get.

Let's have a look at the menu Partiko is offering:

As you can see you can earn Partiko points by using their app. These points can be redeemed to get upvotes from Partiko, but you can also just save them for the future. Who knows what will be possible with these points in the future. I love the fact that you earn by publishing an article, leaving comments, and upvoting, but also the option to earn points faster by watching several commercials every day. Whenever there are free slots to watch them, you can see a red dot at the free points button, and you can also see how many times a day you have left to earn these extra points.

Easy menu

As you can see the menu is very simple, and easy to use for everyone. The notification tab on the right bottom shows you whenever you have received an upvote, comment or transfer. Anything can be found back in that menu just by clicking on it. As you can see in the screenshots above, there's also a chat tab on the bottom. This is another advantage in my opinion, you can now chat with other Partiko users by sending them a message via the chat tab in the app. You can only send this to users of the app, which makes sense to me. Just recently I found out that you can only send messages to people that you follow because when I received a chat from an unknown person to me, and wanted to reply, the app told me that you can only chat with people that you follow. You do have the option to chat back though, it will cost you 10 Partiko points.

You can mark your preferences in settings

As you can see you can mute voting, so you won't receive push notifications every time you receive a vote on one of your articles or comments. The same goes for when someone starts following you. One thing I love about the settings, is that you can mute spam transfers. We all know the endless transfers from certain bots coming in sending you 0.001 STEEM to leave you a memo to start using their service. You can just ignore them from now on. Something that I also find important, is the option to mask NSFW content. I have a toddler walking around, and I don't want to accidentally have adult content showing up on my feed when she's sitting next to me.

Room for improvement

I would like to see the option of making transfers via the Partiko app. Maybe even the option to delegate Steem Power to another user too. The blog editor is quite simple, yet effective and good enough in my opinion. And there is a multi-photo-mode available. The only thing I would love to see added to the blog editor is that when you use the markdown editor it's easier to find. It's only available when selecting the multi-photo-mode which is confusing, and I think it should be also available for the simple editor.

I've been waiting quite some time to find a user-friendly way to connect to other people on Steemit for a while, even though I have a few points that I would like to see added to the app, Partiko meets up to my expectations and even more. Therefore, Partiko gets a 5 out of 5 rating from me.
