Does Coke Cause Kidney Stones

G'day Fellow Steemians, I'm glad I've got your attention. Today I'm going to be addressing a Facebook post made by Facebooker "Ringers from the Top End"_ Coke Causes Kidney Stones_

Now I know What you're wondering and the answer is.... YES.... It's true! Now after reading the evidence you may well say sure, after a fashion but consider this first! If you're a coke or Pepsi drinker. Your addicted to it. there is no maybe when all you drink for hydration or caffeine or blood sugar levels is coke or Pepsi as a first preference, your addicted. Don't be ashamed! Me too!
Mission Statement: Bust or trust
Although I wouldn't put it past the very famous arch nemesis many of us keep in our fridges which we cant seem to live without, I want to find out why the claim was made and what it is suspected about Coca-Cola to be the cause of such a horrible assassination on our kidneys.

As of tonight I've given up Pepsi Max. Thanks to the thought of this. I traded first from coke to coke zero and then to Pepsi Max as I found it sweeter though it claims to have as much sugar as coke zero does for cheaper (0). But I'm never the less eager to find out if its the sugar causing the kidneys to develop the stones as its grainy like sand? Or is it a glucose intolerance all together. Is it the artificial sweetener and if so, which one. is it all fizzy drinks?

All I know is this! I don't get a pain anywhere in my stomach except for when I'm drinking fizzy! It might be wind pain or slosh or bloat or all but the stabbing throb on my right above my hip? Well what about you? to be sure you have to stop eating bad things one by one. Sugar being the hardest as its in everything. Then Gluten. But that's just for you to consider. I've been disrespecting my organs with medications alcohol sugar and wheat gluten for thirty years and always thought the odd throb or ache or pins and needles migraines sweats lethargy etc. were a part of life for me at least. But it all stopped being the case after i stopped consuming each one of these things.

I did some research on this subject and here are my findings.

https://www.livestrong.com/article/543901-kidney-pain-diet-soda/

This study reveals that dark soda has a higher risk in causing the stones like cola due to its higher count of phosphoric acid. Causing kidneys to become more acidic and suitable for stone growth. It also claims that drinking light citrus soda water can not only lessen the likeliness but like drinking more fluid and eating more citrus on an acidic kidney it alkalises the kidneys and dissolves the stones.

On this Site: Cokes Response

It states:_ Coca-Cola distributed a response to this claim saying there was more phosphoric acid per serve of milk and more even in cheese._ However these claims of less per serve are valued at serving sizes of 100ml! Which we all know you cant buy a can containing less than 200ml.
And if you need the caffeine (which also causes kidney failure and pain upon regular use) as often as most of us do, then, like the rest of us all day, you probably consume at least 2L or more a day of the stuff.

Now lets see,
2000 ml is about 20 servings
and at 17.5mg per 100...

that's about 17500mg of phosphoric acid per day
a cup of milk has around 350mg and cheese_ 500mg._
we'd all be so lucky if we consumed more than_ a slice_ of cheese a day, and an entire cup of milk.
Unless you take your coffee full cream and consume as much of it as we do dark fizzy, you couldn't be more fucked!

And in fact coke says they would encourage people to keep drinking to maintain hydration levels. Honestly though could you have expected anything more Noble from the Coca-Cola company?

Now if you have to drink the fizzy light citric soda water is the go but if your an old man who's been diagnosed with gal or kidney stones and you want to minimise your suffering when it comes to passing them through the pipe the fastest way is through high calorie high sugar drinks like pub squash and solo. That is according to doctors!
But it wont help you get rid of your keg! In fact you'll probably have a terrible time on the shitter if you don't make regular visits to the doctor to monitor the size of your stones, so you know when to stop drinking that fizzy.
And guys usually with you it's the ale that causes it. Which is why you don't hear women complain as often as old men. As it happens Women are at a higher risk of developing Kidney pain, Kidney failure, and Kidney stones.
Which is unfortunate.
We are apparently more likely to develop them from fizzy drinks than men. Due to the ph. of our urinary and reproductive system going through hormonal breakdowns every month! yeuch!

So what can you do? What if it's too late for me?

It's never too late. Just stop. Drink plenty of purified water and reach for the grapes or the oranges or nectarines for a fast energising hydrating snack. Or Down the Apple Cider Vinegar with the motherAnd pretend your a rich Greek woman who has everything because she's got fruit and the peasants have none. you will get used to it. They will alkalize and dissolve and shrink and disappear. I suppose you could probably refer to a stone as calcification or plaque. Which brings me to my next Research question.

What is a kidney stone?

This is why Coca-Cola think their comment was soo clever
This site also tells you what the ingredients are in diet sodas and what theyre used for and how much harm they do you. Thankfully i dont mind my herbal green tea if its mixed with a paleo approved alternative i like to call honey.

And here are the effects of Carbonated Beverages on Kidneys
That's right the doctors aren't going to just tell you how you can get better! They want to keep you sick as long as possible so they can milk you or the government for every visit!
