Major EOS dApp announced today

While Ethereum is being crushed by digital cats, EOS is continuing it's development smoothly and is starting to attract the attention of some serious players.

A Wikipedia-like website will be built on top of EOS and IPFS. The announcement came a few hours ago and was also confirmed in the EOS telegram by Larry Sanger, one of the co-founders of Wikipedia.

Dr. Larry Sanger has been an outspoken critic of the online encyclopedia he helped found for some time, but his latest move, joining venture-backed startup Everipedia as its chief information officer shows just how serious he is about disrupting the model.

Revealed today alongside news of Sanger's hire, Everipedia is moving the entire process of approving articles, making edits and storing information to the EOS blockchain.

Also using the EOS blockchain, the company plans to develop a cryptocurrency token called IQ to incentivize the creation of content. Editors and curators will then "mine" that cryptocurrency by making accurate, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia.

When EOS reaches the stars don't say you didn't knew. You'll have no excuse. ☺

PS: Someone should really build a CryptoKittens clone on top of EOS to prove a point. It would be an excellent guerilla marketing move both for EOS and for the ones that developed the dApp. CryptoPuppies, anyone? ☺

I guess at this moment the irony is that you need Ethereum to work for EOS tokens to be traded,, registered and transferred. There is another thread on how people are facing issues transferring EOS due to Ethereum blockchain being congested by kitties.
