Abandoned Canoe
This abandoned canoe is big news and a big mystery in a small town. There's a lifejacket on the ground next to it but no paddle. Two weeks now have passed and it's still there. No one has come forward to claim it or steal it.
This area of the river is very popular for fishing, kayaking and canoeing. Everyone knows about the canoe including the local authorities. Stories and scenarios are building.

It is spooky. It also looks spooky with the water and leaves in it. To me it looks like it has been there for more than two weeks.

My front door does have a lock but I lost the key to it quite a while back. I should install new door knob.
@annephilbrick I would worry if it had drifted against the shore, but it is pulled way up on shore unless you have had some very high tide, I would say whoever was in it pulled it up there. Maybe kids took it for a joy ride and to much trouble to paddle back against the tide.

There's been no recent flooding so I'm thinking too someone definitely dragged it up on shore.

I'm surprised someone hasn't
taken /stolen it by now being no one has come forth to claim it. I'm equally surprised the police didn't pick it up and take it back to the police station..!!
@annephilbrick I would not think you have much trouble with thieves and if it was stolen and dumped there the owners might have thought it was not worth making a report or they do not know it is missing. Like if the only come to their cabin for vaca.
@annephilbrick ive come across a few abondoned canoes as well, always makes me wonder its history.
