Aokigahara, suicide forest
Aokigahara also known as the "suicide forest" or "sea of trees" located in Japan near Mount Fuji.
The reason why it's also called the "suicide forest" is self-explanatory but I'll say why anyway. Many are known to go into that forest to die in other words to commit a suicide.
It's also very easy to get lost which is how the second name came up the "sea of trees". Aokigahara is filled with so many trees that it's not easy for sunlight to get through and from above it looks like a sea but made from trees. With so many trees people get lost and that's another way some die.
Many tourists who have hiked in the forest say that the trees also look haunted because of how the roots aren't in the ground but rather spread across the ground, and that it makes it look like legs and that the trees follow them.
The forest is a very cool, haunted, mysterious, and interesting place. Of course people don't want other people killing themselves and to try to prevent the suicide rate from increasing they actually put signs and posters throughout the forest that says things like "your life is a gift" and "you are important" so that if someone were to hike through planning on committing a suicide the signs might help them calm down and realize that they shouldn't take their life.
In my opinion, I find the Forest really cool and I don't mean that in a bad way but instead that it's interesting on how many people decide to go there to end their life. I also find it very mysterious why do people pick this specific forest to die? Who decided that this forest will be the suicide forest? Is there maybe something about the forest that causes people to take their life? That interests me very much. I didn't know what to do for my first post so I hope you enjoyed.
