I consider this medium as a true communication platform, and although I was motivated several times to write children's education, today finally, I decided to do the task proposed by @steemiteducation because of the interesting topic because I feel the need to contribute at an educational level, my opinion about a dance trend that I find hard to understand or follow and that has become popular among children and adolescents.
It receives the name of "perreo" and is danced to the rhythm of the reggeatón, on the contrary, we grew up listening to the children's age music with educational content and that taught for example the sounds of the animals, the colors and the occasional innocent meeting of a couple of teenagers that they liked, it was the 90's, then !, and starting from that time until now the trend of music that many children and adolescents listen to in their homes and schools have changed considerably, bringing as a consequence , among many other cases of child hypersexualization, which affects the self-esteem and personality of our children. Childhood is a key and important period for the development of personality, temperament, tastes, values and principles, so all information must be reviewed with care and zeal by the educators and trainers of the men and women of the future.
This musical genre became popular in Latin American countries in the year 2000, combining the rhythm of reggae with rap and hip hop. The reggeaton has been transformed as times change and the lyrics of its songs relate social and urban denunciation, but also its content is erotic and sexual, using a language that describes in detail the sexual approach between a man and a woman , with coarse and demeaning vocabulary for women and relationships.
As I commented at the beginning of the article, reggaeton dance is called perreo and it is about sensual movements that imitate the coitus of the dog, the woman who dances it is called a bitch and the man or dance partner, dog.
In this sense, our children are exposed to this type of musical content because this genre is commonly exposed on radio, music and video stations on the web, television and other audiovisual media. Being danceable and sticky music, and before the ignorance of many adults who use this type of music to entertain children's parties, we have seen how the lyrics are hummed by children and adolescents, without stopping to analyze the content they are repeating and that It is stored in the subconscious, which in a large percentage is responsible for our actions.
It is important to make a campaign not against this type of music, but in favor of choosing in our homes, educational centers and other social spaces, musical content according to the type of audience and evening hours according to age. Parents and teachers should be informed and made aware of the harmful effects of sexual and aggressive content consumption by our children and adolescents. It is therefore a teamwork between parents, teachers and the government, the latter, must control the content that allows exposure in the various media.
Music is an instrument of learning, exposing children (who do not count at this age with power to discern, but instead learn through example and the repetition of adults or older children) to listen to the lyrics of these songs that invite you to infidelity, sex without commitment, materialism, use of the figure of a woman as a manipulable sexual object, is going against the teaching of principles, morals, good habits to which the infant is entitled to receive during their learning and cultural training.
Additionally, music can produce emotions in the human being by just humming or dancing it, so in children in the stage of mental and physical development, exposing it to content that shows implicit sex so detailed, can induce it even more to have early sexual relations and without guidance, further raising the teen pregnancy rate.
