People often advise, "just be yourself" or "be yourself." Sounds easy, but how? Well, that's hard. Robert Kelsey, author of What's Stopping You Being More Confident ?, reveals that accepting yourself is the first step how we can become ourselves. Not only that, there are five other steps worth a try.

  1. Accept oneself for what they are
    Robert says this step is important and is in the first place because self-hating is never good. This step is in the first order so that we can determine the important points to find the advantages that exist within. There are people who take years to find it, there is also a try to continue and focus so that more quickly find the advantages in him.

In the process of arguably the trial period, we often trial and error with experience. From there we can deal with the conditions in which we must accept ourselves. If it is successful it will be more comfortable, sincere, and away from the stress.

  1. Do not complain
    Unpopular while at school? Ignore. Do not pay attention and complain about unimportant things. Better give yourself a chance to grow and set your own boundaries. You were not the same as you were 15 or 35 years later. So learn from mistakes and keep on moving for the better.

  2. Stop torturing yourself
    Comparing yourself with others is tantamount to self-torture. Stop and look at the strengths. Because what the advantages of others is not necessarily suitable for us. Let people become themselves, and you become yourself as well. There is no sense in envy or jealousy with what others have. Being honest will have a positive effect on personality, and that's important.

  1. We will not be able to please everyone
    It should be noted that we will not be able to make everyone happy with us, of course there are one or two that will hate us. There are even people who hate great figures like the Dalai Lama or Aung San Su Kyi, though he is also very much admired by others. The important thing, stop trying to always look like others want just to make them happy. But be what they are, and let them accept you as they are. Pretending to be someone else to be accepted will only tire you out.

  2. Accept the negative things that exist within the self
    When someone does not like you, take it and do not overreact. According to Robert, in fact there will be one or two people who feel insecure or do not like your existence, but let alone, do not be too taken heart. Stay focused on improving yourself for the better.

  3. Provide a special time to find yourself
    This special time can be said as a "me-time", or a time out with no one else. The goal is not to have fun for yourself, but use it to discover what you really want and need. Busy with work, family, and friends, sometimes make us forget to provide time for ourself.
