X-men Cyclops | in Microsoft Paint

Hello dear friends,

Today I'd like to share with you a little work in progress/experiment...

I was challenged by the mad writer @mitthradiumn to draw X-men characters using the forgotten relic - Microsoft Paint. The idea was to draw the characters in a semi to fully shitty/mocking way for a collaboration that will be published here soon.

I'm no stranger to digital painting, but I haven't used MS Paint since I was little. I used it quite a bit in the early 90's (before discovering Photoshop), and what did I used to draw most? X-men! (the ones from the animated series that were popular at the time) Yes, I was a big dork then, and I'm still one today.

So, the year is 2018, and this is my *2nd attempt at using MS Paint this week: Cyclops

... And it is an utter FAIL!

Here is a the problem: MS Paint has gotten better... Apparently there was a board meeting at Microsoft HQ and someone pitched to improve the program, you know, got to adhere to the high demand, and the shareholders in that meeting voted unanimously, and most of all soberly, in favor of such an idea.
So it went from looking like this (how I last seen it):

I wouldn't call it amazing by today's standards, but compared to what it used to be, the program is actually pretty cool. Now it comes with a variety of pressure sensitive brushes and some useful "new" tools that made it a semi-decent program to draw in - which actually kinda hinders my ability to draw shitty.

I have to try harder not to try so hard.

- Which come to think of it, makes cyclops very apropriate as my first character.
