Drying Lavnder

My lavender is flowering so I decided to cut some for drying.

I noticed there were some new flowering spikes halfway down the stem, so I used scissors to cut just above them, hoping for more blooms later. After cutting, I tied them tightly into bunches.

They will go into the dark basement to hang over the dehumidifier until dry.

You can never have too much sweetly scented lavender for sachets, potpouris, and maybe I'll try a lavender vinegar this year----which is why I started 10 more plants from cuttings.
