Ciao steemians oggi mentre guardavo alcune foto delle mie precedenti escursioni in montagna, per creare un post, leggevo la storia del monte e le sue leggende su internet e mi imbatto in una immagine a me stranamente familiare, che mi é apparsa ''varie volte in sogno'', anche se non sono stato mai fisicamente sul posto! Scopro che si tratta di un santuario dell' 830 dedicato all' Arcangelo Michele che da anni e senza una motivazione apparente, ho scelto come foto di sfondo sul mio cellulare la sua immagine!

La cosa strana é che questo santuario si trova ben sotto alla cima del monte che io adoravo scalare, attirato li da una voce interiore, da un non so che. Varie volte sono andato li, come se qualcosa o qualcuno mi chiamasse.. per questo oggi vi parleró di questa strana vicenda mostrandovi bellissime foto e scrivendovi a modo mio.

La leggenda narra che la statua di S.Michele era posta in riva al mare di Gianola, frazione di Formia, LT, ma offesa dalle tante bestemmie dei marinai, salí da sola la montagna scegliendosi un luogo tranquillo. I cidadine del borgo vicino riportarono la statua nel loro paese, ma ancora una volta la statua ritornó nel luogo nascosto sceltosi la prima volta. E cosí dall' 830 la statua rimase in quel luogo e vi fú costruito un santuario incastonato nelle rocce in onore del Santo.

Hello steemians today while I was looking some photos of my previous excursions to the mountains, to create a post, I read the history of the mountain and its legends on the internet and I come across a strangely familiar image, which appeared ''several times in my dreams'', even if I've never been physically in place! I find out that it is a sanctuary of 830 dedicated to the Archangel Michael, and for years and without any apparent motivation, I chose his photo as background image on my mobile phone!

The strange thing is that this sanctuary is located well below the top of the mountain that I adored climbing, attracted to them by an inner voice from an I do not know that. Several times I went there, as if something or someone called me, so today I will talk about this strange story showing you beautiful photos and writing in my own way.

Legend has it that the statue of St. Michael was placed on the seafront of Gianola, a fraction of Formia, LT, but offended by the many curses of the sailors, he climbed the mountain alone, choosing a quiet place. The cidadine of the neighboring village brought the statue back to their country, but once again the statue returned to the hidden place chosen for the first time. And so from 830 the statue remained in that place and there was built a sanctuary set in the rocks in honor of the saint.

Son sempre stato attratto da quel gigante visibile dal terrazzo,
sin da giovane, adolescente, ma specialmente piú da ragazzo,
quando in moto nelle tiepide giornate di settembre o primavera,
seguivo i sentieri e scalavo quelle antiche rocce di un'altra era.
Non sapevo il perché, se per passione e amor della natura,
o per saziare il mio istinto bramoso di conoscenza e d'avventura.
Salivo fino in vetta 1252m. fin dove conseguivo in sella al motore,
proseguendo la scalata a piedi fin alla statua del Cristo Redentore.

I have always been attracted to that giant visible from the terrace,
from a young age, adolescent, but especially as a boy,
when whit my motobike,in warm days of September or spring,
I followed the paths and climbed those ancient rocks of another era.
I did not know why, if by passion and love of nature,
or to satisfy my eager instinct for knowledge and adventure.
I climbed up to the summit 1252m. as far as I could get on the engine,
continuing the climb on foot up to the statue of Christ the Redeemer.

Che natura che spettacolo, lontano dal rumore e monotonia,
il paesaggio, gli animali, le rocce, tutto li trasmette armonia.
Non salivo li per devozione non mi reputo un buon cristiano,
non son praticante, ma credende e a nessuno nego una mano,
come una chiamata una voce interiore che ti dice di salire,
ed il mio istinto mi sussurrava.. vai.. c'é qualcosa da scoprire.
Da sempre affascinato dai misteri del creato e della vita,
andavo all'avventura per capire e capirmi in luoghi da eremita.

What kind of spectacle, far from noise and monotony,
the landscape, animals, the rocks, everything transmits harmony.
I did not go up there because of devotion I'm not a good Christian
I am not a practitioner, but I believe and i for nobody denies a help,
as a call an inner voice that tells you to go up,
and my instincts told me .. go .. there is something to discover.
Always fascinated by the mysteries of creation and life,
I went to the adventure to understand & understand me in hermit places.

E sulla vetta da dove si scorge tutto il golfo di Gaeta,
Ponza, Ischia, Capri il Vesuvio, lo sguardo non ha meta,
si rimane incantati da cotanto splendore, magia, bellezza,
che il rientro a casa prima di far notte lo si fá con amarezza.
É forse nelle rocce e nei sentieri di ritorno verso casa,
che si avverte una pace interiore, una tranquillitá un qualcosa,
che non mi só spiegare, ma é di gran piacere per l'anima mia,
quasi da voler restar a scoprire cos'é, ad non andar via.

And on the summit from where you can see the entire Gulf of Gaeta,
Ponza, Ischia, Capri Vesuvius, the gaze has no destination,
one is enchanted by so much slenderness, magic, beauty,
that the return home before night make it with bitterness.
It is perhaps in the rocks and on the paths back home,
that you feel an inner peace, a tranquility something,
that I can not explain myself, but it is a great pleasure for my soul,
almost wanting to stay and find out what it is, not to leave.

Alcuni sogni a volte un luogo di montagna mi han mostrato,
una specie di santuario in pietra dalle rocce circondato
sentivo di conoscer il posto, anche se non vi ero mai stato
ed oggi mentre sceglievo le foto da postar qui l'ho ritrovato..
É il santuario di S. Michele Arcangelo nella roccia incastonato
propio ai piedi della montagna che da sempre mi ha chiamato.
Non ne ero a conoscenza e son sinceramente rimasto stupito
perché son 4 anni che sul mio cellulare mantengo una sua foto.

Some dreams sometimes a mountain place showed me,
a kind of stone sanctuary surrounded by rocks
I felt I knew the place, even if I had never been there
and today while I was choosing the photos to post here I found it ..
It is the sanctuary of St. Michael the Archangel in the embedded rock
right at the foot of the mountain that has always called me.
I was not aware of it and I was genuinely amazed
because from 4 years old on my cell phone, I keep his picture.

É tutto vero, parenti ed conoscenti vi potrebbero confermare
queste coincidenze sono reali e non una storia per raccontare.
Ad oggi non conosco ancora il motivo dei sogni, della chiamata,
io gli ho sempre risposto, tornando li, sulla montagna incantata.
Vi dono e vi racconto questa vicenda in forma di poesia rimata
affinché anche la vostra voce interiore, non appaghi e sia ascoltata.
C'é mistero un universo da scoprire.. nell'incredulo o nel saggio,
ma come sul monte, prima devi arrampicarti per goderti il paesaggio.

It's all true, relatives and acquaintances could confirm you
these coincidences are real and not a tale to tell.
To this day I do not know yet the reason for dreams, of the call,
I always answered him, coming back there, on the enchanted mountain.
I give you and I tell you this story in the form of a rhymed poetry,
so that your inner voice may also not be off and be heard.
There is mystery a universe to discover.. in the incredulous or the wise,
but like on the mountain, first you have to climb to enjoy the landscape.
