As time goes by ..............
The time is 1919, the setting is a large country Queensland town and two newlyweds were looking to set up their house. They were married a week ago and having just returned from a little honeymoon in the city were looking for the specific two armchairs that Sylive had set her heart on buying.
Maybe visualising the chairs sitting in front of the large bay window was being too bold thought Sylvie. But they would be perfect with the maple tree outside. "Where are they? I so hope they have not been sold."
It was Friday afternoon and thankfully Charles had managed to leave his accountancy office to meet his Sylvie at Alfred's Furniture just before the store the doors were locked. He stood in the middle of the shop with Sylive's arm through his as he tried to look for two chairs that Sylvie had described.
Sylive's heart began to drop with disappointment when she could not see them. Her hands tightened with tension on Charles's arm.
"Would that be the two chairs Sylivie? Charles asked gently pointing toward the back of the shop. Sylvia's leapt skipping a beat, "Yes Charles, how wonderful." They both sat down and both looked at each other knowing that the chairs were meant to be in their new home. Perfect!
The time is 2019 and at the entry of winery restaurant in the Adelaide Hills sat two very attractive old chairs in front of a large window. A well dressed middle aged lady stood admiring the lovely old chairs waling in the big tree in the background She immediately wondered about the people who sat in these chairs from an age gone by. "Did they drink tea and chat about the day?" A happiness seem to exude from the chairs. She felt a strong urge to sit on one of the chairs.
'They are such attractive chairs and look so comfortable, perhaps I will take a seat while my husband pays the bill.'
Cheers and Blessings
