STEEMCHURCH: JUDAS
Why was Judas Iscariot lost?
The Gospels tell us a sad story about a man named Judas Iscariot, a young man from the Queriot region who was struck by the teachings of a young teacher called Jesus, who accepted his invitation to follow him.
And so the young Judas became part of the group of Jesus and even held a prominent place among them (he was the treasurer of the group). Nonetheless he strayed from the path and we all know what happened to Judas Iscacriote.
In the past few days I have taken time to read about Judas and I have also asked several people their opinion and some of them answered the following about:
Why did Judas get lost?
"Judas was lost because God determined it; I mean one day God decided that Judas was going to be the traitor and he was going to get lost. "
This is not correct since then God would be capricious and prejudiced; the fact that in the scriptures they refer to Judas as the son of perdition and as who he would give to Christ does not mean that God chose him for such a thing. Rather it shows us that God in his omniscience knew that at any given moment Judas would do what he did. Therefore Judas was not lost because God chose him to be lost.
"Other people say he got lost for being a thief and for selling Christ."
Judas was the treasurer of the group and from time to time he reached into his saddlebag and took money for his own use. That attitude shows that his heart was damaged by the germ of greed. So one day he responded to an offer (30 silver coins for giving Jesus) and he did so.
But I ask, have not many of us stolen from God? When we get for ourselves the glory that belongs to HIM? Are not we stealing from him? When we put him in second place. Are not we stealing from him? And how many times have we sold you for less than 30 coins?
Judas was not lost because he was a thief or because he was a traitor.
Judas was lost because he did not value the sacrifice of Christ. After betraying Jesus, Judas sore and repentant went to the temple and there he threw the coins that had given him, confessing that he had delivered an innocent and then left there.
But I took a wrong path, it was tied to a tree and hanged. Yes ... Judas convinced of the evil he had done decided to execute himself (terrible mistake). Only in Christ is there forgiveness and only in his blood is there cleanse for our sins.
The sacrifice of Christ was also for the sins of Judas; but regrettably this one did not resort to the one who forgives sins (Christ our LORD)
In Revelation 20 of 11-15 does not say that one day every human being who has stepped on the face of the earth (you and me) will appear before the Lord and there will open some books in which the trajectory of our lives (good and bad).
But there is another very important book and it is the book of life. In verse 15 there is an expression that is practically a sentence and the execution of it is for all those who "were not found inscribed in the book of life."
These people will not be condemned for the bad things they did; but for not having done the best and wisest action that a human can do: accept Christ as his savior, seek forgiveness and cleansing of sins in Him and only in Him, because only in Him is there salvation.
And you, what are you going to do? Will you try to wash yourself of your sins or will you resort to the only one who can truly forgive you?
