Unforgettable Italy

[ENG] It usually happens to me, regardless of the beauty of the place I decide to visit, that after a few days I want to return home. But on my trip to Italy that thought never crossed my mind.

There the days went by so fast, that I didn't need anything. I brought my son against his will and it was against his will that I brought him back home...

"14 days to see 4 cities was not enough" he said and he is right !.

I don't know if the peace and happiness I experienced on this trip can be perceived in the photos I am showing you, but always when I see them my eyes fill with tears of emotion. I don't usually repeat a place I have already visited (I still have about 5 more to go) but I would make an exception for Italy.

We traveled through Italy on a Frecciargento train and I must confess that I prefer it over the airplane. Only one condition, I must be sitting in the direction the train is going, because in the opposite direction I get horribly dizzy.

Our first stop was Milan, where we stumbled wit no other that the Duomo di Milano. At that moment it was closed, but if that wasn't the case, I wouldn't noticed the details of that majestic bronze door that narrates the life and passion of Christ... This door alone justified being there. Italy is art, culture...it is simply an impressive place in every step you take.

In this beautiful photo it seems that only we stopped in time and that the whole world was still moving.

At one point, it started to rain (and it was the middle of winter so the rain was freezing) and everyone was running for shelter.

Our next stop was Florence, with its wonderful architecture and its iconic Ponte Vecchio. That day, if I if ain't wrong, they celebrated "the Annunciation" (the day in which the Archangel Gabriel manifests himself to the Virgin).

How much virtue did God see in her to have chosen her as the mother of His child?

I wonder if Florence will be known for the city of brick roofs or just for the Cupola di Santa Maria del Fiore?

Il mercato storico del Porcellino da Firenze Where I brought that beautiful silk scarf, which shows the original painted market, with its grocery stall, its merchants... seeing it is like traveling back in time, sometimes I used it at home as a table runner.

Every time I visit a country, I have the habit of bringing a stuffed animal that represents the typical animal of the place (or any stuffed animal that makes reference to the country I am in) but in this case the wild boar, representative animal of La Fontana di Porcellino , was such an ugly animal that I didn't want to buy it. At the airport, while we were waiting for the flight back to Venezuela, my son said "I have to come back here, we have to take the stuffed animal with us" and whenever he can he reminds me of it.

And we arrived at Venice, although it is true that all my life I was aware that it was surrounded by canals, I don't know why I never imagined that when I saw the line to take a cab, it would be a boat.

I am not one of those who are curious about a place before visiting it, so for me it was a big surprise, I laughed and cried at the same time.

how could I get on a boat with my suitcase?

While we were there, the river level began to rise significantly. We had to lean to the right or left so that "le gondole" could pass under the bridge without its tip scraping the arch. When descending from it, we used to climb two or three steps, but on the fourth day of our stay in the city, the water brought "le gondole" to the height of the street.

We made an excursion to the island of Murano where I simply cried, and applauded when I saw the work done on the glass by the masters. They created in front of my eyes in maybe two minutes with two tweezers a horse born from fire. GRAZIE!!! As if so much beauty was not enough!

And of course, we never stop to delight in their wonderful gastronomy, which in my opinion has always been so fresh and healthy.

And before returning to our country, our last stop: Rome.
The carriages are minimal, incredible! And of course the coliseum, this work was something I did not understand, there is very little marble left compared to what it once was. On the other hand, the use that was given to it speaks very badly of the human being. Paying to see others die. I hope we have improved a little in all these years... I didn't feel good being there, even so it is a must stop.

This picture at the Trevi Fountain was taken by miracle... it is difficult to make the tourists move, they are petrified for hours in front of this monument. So to get the picture I had to climb on the railing and hold on to my son's neck, praying not to fall into the fountain, because the tourists definitely do not move from there.

8 years later I had the opportunity to see a documentary of its construction [ *heavy breathing ]

It was quite an adventure, Grazie Italia!!!! see you soon

All the photos was taken with my Samsung celular phone.

Thanks to all for reading my post. and team of @sardrt, @girolamomarotta, @mikitaly and @italygame for bringing me this opportunity .
