Poloniex pt2
Earlier this week I transferred my Gridcoin to Poloniex and traded them into Steem, at which point I sent them to Steemit. Unfortunately there was an error involved and my Coins were frozen until a support worker could deal with it.
It's been a week and so far nothing's happened, and so I tried sending the coins here through Brittex; which was no problem. This was the point I decided that I wasn't going to deal with Poloniex again.
That is until I found out last night that Poloniex allows people to lend Bitcoin to Short sellers with a decent daily interest rate.
That has me stumped; in reluctant to put more coins into the site because I don't know how long it would take to retrieve them; if they are retrievable.
At the same time Id love to take part in lending, or at least attempt it and see if there's opportunity to make money there.
But burned once, twice shy. Do I want to risk losing financially simply because of a glitch in the system?
I'm already annoyed that the steem locked up with Poloniex is doing me no good here on Steemit. Why put myself in that position?
It is tempting though
Reading so much about Poloniex I'm reluctant to use my account on their webpage again. I've swtiched over to the #bitshares system Openledger DEX. It doesn't have as much volume as the bigger centralized exchanges, but I don't think I can trust centralized exchanges again.
I have an open Ticket with Coinbase about lifting my Authy security after loosing my phone with the only 2FA key on. They are not helping any, luckily I had no coins stored on there. But their support is just terrible.
I'm going to check out the bitshares hashtag right now.
Once Poloniex releases my steem I've decided that I'm done with them.
I used Coinbase to buy my first batch of Gridcoin because they let me use my credit card, but I found out this morning they don't let me send money back to anything in Canada. Which is alright, it's forced me to find other exchanges that work on this side of the border as well as Bitcoin ATMs
