Meanwhile back at the Ranch: haying season
It’s well into haying season. Back in June we bought this antique baler, John Deere 214T, it turned out to be in a lot worse shape than advertised. But we went ahead and bought it since there wasn’t much else around.
The nickname for our baler is the ol hoopty. Coined by my Son in a moment of anger.
He has put a lot of work into the machine and hay season is passing us by.
We cut down our first small plot. And tried it out.
The knot tier on one side still will not work. After another day of messing with it, my son found a broken part that we think is where the problem is.
He took them home and welded them up so, with a little luck maybe tonight we will be baling hay.

Thanks the Tractor was restored by my now passed uncle so it has some sentimental value too.
The restoration looks good. It doesn't look that old and looks like it could last 100 years.
It’s still giving us some trouble but hopefully we can work the kinks out.
