Ralston don't waste any time and capitalized the popularity of the game by introducing in 1982 Donkey Kong Cereal. The cereal was made up entirely of tiny barrel-shaped puffs and was “barrels of fun for breakfast,” as the slogan goes, also as all cereal, the company started a television advertising, where the cereal is promoted as "the sweet, crunchy, corn taste will drive you ape." The cereals were produced and marketed until 1989 when they were discontinued, after this, Donkey Kong Cereal was followed by General Mills Pac-Man Cereal in 1983.
