Piracy is a sensitive issue when it comes to talking about the video game industry and, in general, about any entertainment industry, while pirates have a historically troubled and dangerous history around the globe, I'm going to focus on my favorite subject; the video games. It may be reasonable to assume that piracy has existed for as long as the oceans were plied with awesome video games and console. Companies are constantly looking for that we acquire their products. So the companies have implemented anti piracy methods, some incredibly effective, others quite ingenious and others that could be considered invasive, so i'm going to talk about some of them.

Starting with the constant pixelation of the screen that ends up covering it completely or the distortion of the scenarios a method used by Electronic Arts in the game The Sims 4, another great examples like this is the one used by Konami in Metal Gear Solid when we must contact Meryl, for that we must look for the frequency of the codec on the back of the original game box, so logically, anyone who did not have an original copy could be in serious trouble to overcome this point, not everyone had internet in 1998.

It is obvious that the guys from Ubisoft hate the Buccaneer so much, so in the version the Nintendo DS of Michael Jackon: The Experience when is trying to do operate an unauthorized copy all the songs in the game were replaced by the incessant melody of the vuvuzelas, the irritating sound of the cornet made of plastic material turned out to be very annoying and disconcerted to many pirates, guaranteed effectiveness.

Another recent case of incidence in the gameplay as punishment to the copier is in the excellent Batman: Arkham Asylum, developed by Rocksteady Studios which decided to Swashbucklin the pirates and not letting them take their booty. In the pc version the developers included a number of limitations such as the impossibility of planning with the cloak and several failures that prevented further development of the adventure from a certain point.

Grand Theft Auto IV, Me hearty, I love this video game saga, it's one of the best that I know, a true masterpiece, games it's seem more hollywood productions than simple games are the revolutionize the industry, that's why the Squadron from Rocksteady Studios achieved that all corsair who try to run a non-original copy of the game walk the plank literally, since the game camera kept moving and shaking while playing making it very difficult to enjoy it, maybe someone gave a lot to the Grog.

I don't condemn or support piracy, but keep in mind that piracy has been a common practice when buying games, so much that in Venezuela for example there is an organized market to supply this demand, since I can remember, hacking a game was normal, we have gone from computer burned CDs, to the now exclusive download bittorrent for PC games. Of course there is a whole legal gaming industry here, with the arrival of Steam and Humble Bundle both digital distribution platform for video games, the purchase of original games became easier and cheaper, most are clear online games, but I am going to say it very clearly way the reason piracy is so popular is because piracy is, for many people, the only way to be able to get a game.
