The Pase Mosque is the Great Mosque in north Aceh district of Aceh province.The mosque was built in 1972.Since it was first established to date,Masjid Raya Pase became the center of Jama'ah Al-Jamiatus Sa'diyah.Every Saturday night, this mosque was attended by thousands of Jamaah Samadiyah to raise dhikr and tahlil.Mosque Raya Pase is called as the grandest mosque in the area of North Aceh.the mosque is indeed the center of the Jama'ah Al-Jamiatus Shamadiyah with its rapid development so now has had 104 branches in 70 Mosques and 34 Mushalla / Meulasah spread in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.

History of Masjid Raya Pase

Mosque Raya Pase was founded on the initiative of a North Aceh community figure,Muhammad Ansari or familiarly called Harun Kumis, in 1972.Before the Great Mosque Pase was founded,in the Panton City of Pumpkin has stood a small mosque of self-help communities in the 1950s.The old mosque with a semi-permanent construction was named Al-Jihad which is now changed to at-taqwa,located on the banks of the river Krueng Jambo Aye,about 50 meters from the current Jambo Aye Land Police Station.

Era of the 1960s, Aaron Kumis together with a number of other community leaders went to Jakarta to meet the first President of Indonesia Soekarno.
He asked the president that in the former Kingdom Pase area was established a mosque that will be a pride as well as a symbol of the glorious history of the glory of the Islamic Kingdom Pase.

But the realization of the construction of the mosque was only done in 1972, in the era of President Soeharto.With Dip: No.6 / XVIII / 3/1972, the Central Government of the Republic of Indonesia disbursed a budget of Rp 24 million.Laying the first stone done by the Ministry of Religious Affairs represented by the Director General of Religious Affairs of the Department of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia,accompanied by community figures Pantonlabu, Teungku Ibrahim Thaib and Teungku H. M Amin Umar.

After standing, the stewardship of the mosque was under Teungku Ibrahim Thaib and Azis Sufi as secretary.Currently, the stewardship of the mosque is under H Muhammad Daud and Teungku Ibrahim Bardan or Abu Panton, with secretary Syamsuddin Jalil or Panton's father.
