Civil Case Status Update
Yesterday, I hired a Process Server to serve summonses on two defendants I am suing for violations of the 8th and 14th Amendments to the US Constitution and several rules under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (2003) while I was "housed" in the Essex County Jail a little over two years ago. Doing this pro se is a lot more difficult than criminal law. But I'm trudging along, getting help where I can, and if anyone knows a civil liberties/rights attorney who is licensed to practice in New Jersey and isn't a lazy chickenshit, I'd love to meet them. This is horrible. I am so sorry that we as human choose to treat each other so poorly. The fact is that the hate a bigotry in our country has only been elevated under this current administration. I sure hope you get something from them but I doubt it will happen they will just keep it in court and it is sad that you are going at this alone. Stories like yours hurt my heart .
