A British cryptocurrency exchange is planning to enter the bitcoin futures market.

CoinfloorEX, a London-based plant founded in 2013, announced on Wednesday that it will launch Bitcoin futures contracts next month, joining several other companies to offer the product to its customers, according to Reuters.

It should be noted that, unlike some of its competitors, Coinfloor will offer physically established futures contracts, which means that when the contract expires, the real asset being traded will be delivered (in this case, Bitcoin). The Bitcoin futures contracts offered by CME and CBOE are settled in cash and do not deliver Bitcoin to the contract owners.

The product came in response, in part, to the demand of some of the exchange's clients, Coinfloor co-founder Mark Lamb told Reuters. He explained:

"When you talk to liquidity providers, they all say the same thing, what they want is a physically delivered futures contract so they can cover their exposure through exchanges."

Taking a step back, Coinfloor is at least the fifth company to offer Bitcoin futures contracts, joining Bitmex, CryptoFacilities, CME Group and CBOE. CME and CBOE, based in the USA. UU., Offer contracts settled in cash, like CryptoFacilities, based in the United Kingdom.

With the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission. UU announcing that it would work on an "intensified review process" for future futures contracts after receiving setbacks in existing products, the concept of Bitcoin futures remains controversial.

Similarly, several senators requested more information on CFTC's oversight of such products, noting that taxpayers should be protected from "fraud, manipulation and abusive practices in the futures and options markets".
