Hoobastank guitarist breaks his leg while preparing to go to Indonesia, cancels performing in Yogyakarta
Unpleasant news has just hit Hoobastank fans in Indonesia. The reason is, on Wednesday (21/9/2022) yesterday, the band from the United States announced the cancellation of its planned appearance at the JogjaRockarta concert which will be held in Yogyakarta.
The reason for the cancellation of Hoobastank to Yogyakarta is very stifling for fans in the country. The reason is, the band's management announced that the guitarist, Dan Estrin, suffered a broken leg while preparing to go to Indonesia.
As a result, inevitably the other personnel, Doug Robb, Chris Hesse, and Jesse Charland were forced to abandon their respective intentions to appear in Kota Gudeg. This is a form of concern for their partner, Dan Estrin, who is injured.
"Jogjakarta ROCKarta fans. We have some unpleasant news to share, Hoobastank can't perform this weekend. Dan broke his leg last night while preparing to go to Indonesia," Hoobastank management said via their official Instagram.
Hoobastank also realized that this cancellation made the fans who had been really looking forward to their action had to feel disappointed. They also explained the strong reasons that made Dan unable to travel while promising to actually come to Indonesia one day.
"He is devastated to cancel the concert and to the disappointment of fans, other artists, staff, promoters and the many people affected by this cancellation," Hoobastank said in a statement.
"This decision to cancel was not taken lightly, but it was the doctor who advised him not to travel as his injury was completely new and he could have suffered more serious injuries by walking."
"We will try to immediately come to Indonesia as a substitute for this," they concluded.
After the message from the band's management was conveyed, Dan Estrin also wrote a sad expression from him which was displayed under the announcement of this alternative rock band.
"I am really heartbroken when I have to cancel this concert. We are all looking forward to this moment to be able to meet fans in Indonesia, who are our most loyal fans in this world," wrote Dan Estrin.
"It's really hard for me to put into words to describe how I feel right now. If I was allowed to fly by plane for this concert, I would do so without hesitation. Please understand this misfortune more than anyone understands -Dan," he concluded. And while uploading a portrait of his injured leg.
However, the JogjaRockarta concert will still run for two days, on 24 and 25 September 2022 at Tebing Breksi, Yogyakarta.
