The Great Mother
This point of interest book investigates the Great Mother as a primordial picture of the human mind. Here the famous logical analyst Erich Neumann draws on custom, folklore, craftsmanship, and records of dreams and dreams to inspect how this paradigm has been apparently communicated in many societies and periods since ancient times. He indicates how the ladylike has been spoken to as goddess, beast, door, column, tree, moon, sun, vessel, and each creature from snakes to winged animals. Neumann perceives a general ordeal of the maternal as both supporting and fearsome, an affair established in the argumentative connection of developing cognizance, symbolized by the tyke, to the oblivious and the obscure, symbolized by the Great Mother.
Including another foreword by Martin Liebscher, this Princeton Classics release of The Great Mother presents another age of perusers to this significant and continuing work.
