A while back, @surpassinggoogle suffered the tremendous loss of his Mother, and made a fantastic contest idea to empower all of our Mothers and be grateful for them. Now that my Mother is on Steemit, a fact that I am very happy about, I want to make this post giving her a shout-out.

If any of you want to follow my Mother, she is @caminospirit on Steemit.

The reason she is @caminospirit is because she did El Camino del Santiago, a very long pilgrimage/hike over hundreds of miles. She's very strong and has experienced a lot. She works at the Harn Museum in Gainesville FL, and enjoys her work a lot. She is very independent and has no problem doing full-scale adventures solo. She has bicycled the length of the state of Florida and walked the length of Spain. She has been taking a break from social media, but I think the concept of Steemit has intrigued her beyond what a regular social media could. It's a very exciting future we are all walking into, and I think that Steemit is here to make it easier for us to handle, adapt to, learn with, and let us change the world together.

I am very grateful for my Mother, and I am very happy she is now a Steemian (:
