CHEMICALS TO AVOID 101: THE SHIT IN YOUR MAKEUP!
There are seemingly endless chemicals in makeup and they're probably inventing new ones as we speak. This post is going to focus on probably the 2 most weird (at least in my opinion).
Of course, I'm talking about Iron Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. If you ever peeled the hidden ingredients list open on any of your powder makeup products, it probably contains these things.
Iron Oxide is essentially RUST, and Titanium Dioxide is a known carcinogen. I mentioned it in my previous post because it's also used in toothpaste, among other things. ( https://steemit.com/chemicalstoavoid/@amvanaken/chemicals-to-avoid-101-all-other-b-s-toothpaste-ingredients )
Something you gotta ask yourself is this... Do you really need IRON or TITANIUM PARTICLES to make yourself feel attractive or wanted? Think about it...
The obvious answer is no, and that we've been INDOCTRINATED into thinking that these things are mandatory for beauty to exist, and guess what, this just happened to drive MASSIVE profits for the cosmetic industry.
But where does the word cosmetology even come from? Well, the Greeks used the word Cosmos to define that which was immaculately arranged or adorned (i.e. the cosmos or universe, etc). So basically, the whole cosmetics industry has everybody competing to be the most attractive thing in the known universe. I'm not even going to post a link for that because I take my etymology seriously and you can search it if you don't believe me (;
See how ridiculous this is starting to seem? Is all this really necessary? Not at all. The human body itself is beautiful, naturally.
In the end, the big cosmetic companies know what they're putting in there, and that's why they cover the ingredients list, which is the most important part of the whole packaging.
REMEMBER, you are all beautiful people regardless of anybody's opinions or any other variable!
No need to slam your face with toxic shit daily! Empower yourselves and live as natural as you want to! Your skin will thank you for not slamming microscopic metals into it daily, I promise!
