Syrian gov't will end presence of all terrorists in Idlib - Mikdad

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 P.M.) - Syria's Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad stated on Saturday that the government is determined to end the presence of all terrorist groups in Idlib.

In an interview with the Syrian TV on Friday evening, Mikdad said that the mainstream media was misleading the world regarding the situation in Idlib.

Mikdad said this media manipulation is a hypocritical mechanism that is adopted by the U.S. and its western allies.

He indicated that Syria can’t stand still towards the suffering of two million Syrian citizens who are controlled by the terrorist organizations in Idlib.

The veteran politician would then go on to compare the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) and Jabhat Al-Nusra to the German Nazi Party during World War II.

Mikdad asserted that terrorists are the ones who used the chemical weapons and that the Syrian Arab Army has never used it in its operations against terrorism.

He noted that the hostile statements by the US against Syria came after Washington and its allies failed to achieve their goal in undermining Syria or ending its national and pan-Arab role and imposing the Western hegemony on the region.
