Syrian Army storms last ISIS stronghold in southern Syria

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 P.M.) - For the fourth time this week, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has stormed the Islamic State's (ISIS) last stronghold in southern Syria.

Led by their 1st and 3rd divisions, the Syrian Arab Army launched a big assault along two different axes in the Al-Safa region of northeast Sweida.

According to a military source in Sweida city, the Syrian Arab Army attempted to advance at the Qabr Sheikh Hussein axis in a bid to liberate the last areas controlled by the Islamic State.

The source said the Syrian Arab Army has made some advances this morning; however, the Islamic State is fiercely resisting their attack.

With ISIS on their last legs in the Al-Safa region, the Syrian Arab Army will attempt to seize their final positions in the coming days.
