Latest map update of southwest Idlib front
BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 A.M.) - The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is preparing to launch a large-scale offensive against the jihadist rebels in the southwestern countryside of the Idlib Governorate.
The Syrian Arab Army's offensive will concentrate on several areas controlled by the jihadists of the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) and Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham, including the Al-Ghaab Plain and Jisr Al-Shughour.
Jisr Al-Shughour is a strategic city that is located at the Idlib-Latakia axis; it was captured by the jihadist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh during their large-scale offensive in the Spring of 2015.
In addition to targeting Jisr Al-Shughour and the Al-Ghaab Plain, the Syrian Arab Army will be launching an offensive in the northern countrysides of Latakia and Hama, along with an attack on southwest Idlib.
As of now, these are the only offensives that have been scheduled by the Syrian Arab Army's High Command in northwest Syria.
