Kapal PLTD Apung yang menjadi salah satu icon Wisata berada di tengah pemukiman penduduk Punge Blang Cut, Kota Banda Aceh. Kapal tersebut awalnya berada kurang lebih 10 kilometer di lepas pantai Ulee Lheu dari posisi saat ini, kemudian dihempas oleh gelombang besar saat gempa dan Tsunami melanda kawasan tersebut.
