Caroline Garcia in the final of the Wuhan Tournament
More than a match before winning a first title in 2017. Caroline Garcia continued its momentum this Friday in Wuhan. She won the semifinal against Maria Sakkari (80th WTA), the player who had dropped Alizé Cornet in the previous round. Aside from a difficult start to the game and a losing service play, the Frenchman dominated a game in an hour and 20 minutes: 6-3, 6-2. In the final, she will face Saturday Ashleigh Barty (37th). The 21-year-old Australian made a sensation by eliminating the 4th world, Pliskova, before leaving sharply Jelena Ostapenko (6-3, 6-0) in the semi-final.
