"Food Captured with Yummy Thoughts!"
Chicken bread is a special dish due to its shape. It consists of chicken filling and outer wrapping of white flour dough.
Chicken or vegetable fillings are very common in every recepie. White Flour dough is common too, but here is the style of wrapping the filling which makes it unique.
You got to spread the rolled dough on the tray and place the filling on it. Then you have to cut the front covering on the filling in long strips. After that, you have to place them crisscrossing on the filling.
It requires a little art and proper measuring of the strip size and numbers.
When your are done it will look like a fish precisely. It has a long body like a fish, has crisscross strips which looks like the scales on the fish's skin.
When baking it in the oven you have to egg wash it after a while. Egg wash is not done at the start, because it'll burn out.
These photos were taken during an iftar of Ramadan. My brother is expert in making chicken breads. He first made it during the fast of shaban. Everyone in our family liked it so much that he became a professional guide for this Recepie.
Last Ramadan, we also tried vegetable bread because i don't eat meat. I ate it anyhow but my family didn't. They said it can't replace chicken bread for its supremacy.
The bread was a little thick to eat but it was delicious. Your chicken bread becomes more crispy if its crust is not very thick.
It all depends on your preference whether you wanna eat crispy or soft bread.
Also it is the fast breaking which stops you to eat heavy things all of a sudden.
That's why i used to eat anything after praying magrib.
My nana Abu had also come for the iftar all of a sudden. We were making this dish and asked him if he would eat it. He said why not.
He lives with his son's family without his son (he lives in abroad). My mother is his only child who lives in the same city. He visits us every Friday on his off day. Friday is a very special day for us rather than its Islamic values.
Because we all have our lunch together sitting around the table on this day. Otherwise, we eat depending upon the mood and hunger, separately.
On Friday we make one special dish for our Nana Abu.
The dish has emotional element because we had shared it with nana Abu in Ramadan.
He doesn't pay regular visits in Ramadan due to fasts. This dish had his name on it.
It connected us all on one table like it used to be in childhood. When all of us would eat together sitting on the floor on time.
