The Teide volcano

in #photography7 years ago

Re-read, or rather, listened to Julia Verne's book "In Search of Captain Grant." An excellent book. And what a wonderful movie version was published by Stanislav Sergeyevich Govorukhin! (Russian filmmaker) I like it very much from childhood, and now, sometimes, when I see it on TV, I stick to the TV.

Well, yes, that's not the point. And the fact is that in the book, there was such a moment. When Monsieur Jacques Paganel appeared, to everyone's surprise, aboard Duncan (Yacht), he calmed down, decided to land on the Canary Islands and make an ascent to the Teide volcano. True, nothing happened to him and he embarked on a full adventure journey to find Captain Grant, along with a search expedition, but the mention of some Canary Islands and a volcano - was deposited in my memory.

It so happened that I myself was fortunate enough to visit the island of Tenerife, which is the largest of the Canary Islands and it is on this very volcano Teide!

Well, and, actually, a small photo sketch, landscapes of the volcano. The spectacle is very unusual.

I'll start from the beginning. The road to the volcano leads through the foothills, overgrown with pines. A very beautiful road.

The land around the road - apparently the consequence of the action of the volcano. It looks like a plowed field, but it's not the earth - it's stones. Breed.

Rising higher and higher, you find yourself above the clouds. Pleasant feeling.

From time to time the road leads through black fields, almost not covered with vegetation.

But there is vegetation. Mass of flowers, grass, some plants.

But still the stones dominate. Around the realm of stones.

The road to the volcano is ending. Then, to the top, leads the funicular. We rise higher. You can see the ocean and clouds.

And now, we are not the top. The height is just over three kilometers above sea level. I tried to breathe in full, but that was not it! There is an easy lack of oxygen. Around the blue sky and the beauty of the summit.

The path leads to the volcano's vent.

A little walk on top we hurried down. Upstairs it's pretty cold.

Having descended, we, on the way back from the mountain, met a lot of beautiful landscapes with rocks.

Jacques Paganel wasn't but I were able to visit this very interesting place. I want to travel even more and more interesting.

Have a great day!

Very beautiful pictures! If she had been in the journey!
