This is all we have.
Don’t let it fade with the rising sun.
There is only so much these moments can bring,
But don’t force me to go when all is said and done.
This is all I can show,
These marks on my flesh where the wounds can grow,
But time will go on.
Time will tell whether at last this is true
Or our instincts have failed.

The sky is bright;
Shouldn’t I be out basking in its glory?
But is it really where I belong if I can’t be in your arms?
I stood out under the moonlight
And I swear the wind called your name
But where have you gone
That you had to leave me here, alone?
I have searched for your call,
I have asked the Gods to send me a sign
But your letter never came.

In the light of day
I try to wash these feelings away
Burying them under the sun
Never to be found.
But the grains of sand
Flowing through my hands
Like to cut me deep within
So that I cannot run from these sins
And they’re breaking me
Into shards of the weak
The rays from the sun
Are helping me come undone
And I’m racing around
Like a wolf without a home

Do you ever look to the stars
And beg that they answer you?
For them to dance into a picture
That displays your life perfect?
Have you ever felt the pull of the stars
The star-crossed fate?
Well whoever said they held the strings?
Will you take it upon yourself to dance
To the cadence of your own breath?
To allow the Will of Desire To shine?

She rode through the night
Distance waves crashing as an echo.
The moon hung high offering only a thin smile
Enough to keep pale eyes awake.
Howling like a banshee
The wind chased her into the night
Bringing with it darkness as black as a raven’s wing.
Out of fear she rode.
Out of desperation.
For the hope of seeing the rising sun,
She journeyed onward away from fate
Where the stars wouldn’t find her.
Where hope was found in the luminescent rays of warming days.

If I had one wish
I would turn back time
Fix how this world
has become so fixated upon greed.
Change the way we look at one another
And shed the masks that conceal our true identities.
If I had one choice
I would keep only love.
Throw away everything else
That seems to eat away at our souls
And veil over who we really are.
If I could say only one word
it would be
Unity.
All to stand together
To put down the crimson tinted blades
That have been turned against ourselves.

This is a collection of poetry from the past yet I feel very connected to it now. I wanted to compile it into one post, as they all touched upon a similar theme.
