Obviously the battery is kaput. You should be able to run it without the battery,(Most laptops don't need a battery and can run perfectly from the power supply unit) and if it runs ok get a new battery.

Well it is interesting. In fact I just posted a video about it. It booted right up. Ran fine for a couple of hours. Then crashed lol. Pretty cool though. I never know they run without the battery.
