Thanks for your post, @amberyooper. I remember how it looked in full summer, what a difference. Now I don't feel so bad anymore about the fact that my own garden looks so empty and sad. Your post made me realize it was not me, it is just the way it goes when seasons change.

I stil have a lot of work to do too. I don't like this part of being a gardener. I always find a reason to procrastinate when it comes to mulching the beds, cleaning up leftovers from plants, cleaning trellises and so on. I should get started, though, because although we had some warm and sunny days last weekend, it's going to go downhill from now on. It's only going to get colder and we'll be getting more rain. I'd better take action while it is still more or less enjoyable outside...

Good luck catchibg the fish. Where do you keep them during winter? I'm just wondering if they would have to move from a luxurious villa (= the pond) into a 1-room studio (=a small fish bowl)... :0)

We normally keep the fish in the basement in a 100 gallon stock tank. That has worked pretty well in the past few years.
