WHEN VISION BECAME CLEARER

in #untalented9 years ago

I remember November 2014, around this period, I was bedridden on the hospital bed in the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, battling with life and living, fever, cold, nausea, digestive tract intolerance, and what have you?

All drugs, food, fluids, getting into me orally was almost immediately rejected by my system and cumulatively I stayed close to four days without any meaningful thing getting into me.(I recall my friend Ndanti Udua was beside me there in the hospital (now that's friendship there! Love you bro!)

Then a doctor came in, ran his eyes carelessly round the nurses folders about me, suggested a prescription and pheewww! He was off!

That made my situation even worst, he wasn't a bad Doctor, but just maybe he didn't study the Case More appropriately; just so you know, I nearly died that day.

A pharmacist came on rounds later that day, asked Mom few questions and suggested some drugs regimen to the doctors who were around, the prescription worked like magic, he stayed around my bed for hours after his call, I felt the love of health Care through that pharmacist! I got back to my feet almost in hours. ( It was found out to be a rare case of food poisoning.)

So from that day, my motivation to become a PHARMACIST increased, a year after that, I had admission to study Pharmacy, the same course I had applied for but didn't succeed since 2010!

The moment that pharmacist made that prescription, in the most caring manner, certain things dropped in my heart, that as a health provider, I ll make sure I understand fully the pains of my patients and imagine myself in their shoes, that pharmacist gave me more direction, passion and made my vision clearer.

It made me realise that I could be a change in the health sector, and that's what I will be - A POSITIVE CHANGE!

By the way, until vision becomes clearer, motivation isn't better!
