Tonight we will be delving into the blockchain, a profound technology that has been lauded by some in the field as the most significant development in many years, decades, or even centuries! The buzz around blockchain technology has poked its head out into a portion of the sphere of media and cultural awareness, but is still not grasped by the broader culture. To many it feels like 1994 again. Just like the internet at the time, blockchain technology has been around for several years but hasn’t yet made the leap to full-scale adoption. Tonight we will discuss the basics of the blockchain. What is it? How does it function? Why is it important?
