Hi guys,
( Please switch to night mode and enjoy. Thank you very much. )
Welcome back to yet another segment of Motivational Mondays. Wow. Congratulations on arriving on time every single time for receiving your dose of Monday motivation.
I'm really impressed by your commitment.
3 cheers for everyone Onboard and not Onboard here. Hip-hip hurray. Hip-hip hurray. Hip-hip hurray.
Hahahaha.
Alright, now let's get back on track.
So before we begin let's just see together what are Motivational Mondays all about?
I have seen that people either want to begin working out but they have some other commitments that need their ATTENTION.
After this they never seem to begin working out or even if they do, they don't continue the momentum forward i.e. don't even last a week.
Therefore, these posts are going to be providing you some motivation/inspiration to work out so that you banish the excuses and make some room even if it's for 5-10 mins. for working out daily.
And with that time for the most awaited question of the day i.e. how do we get you guys motivated??
Alright, the answer is " A Story." 👏👏👏.
So for today we have with us George from Cape Town, South Africa.
George is a big i.e. BIGGGG FAN of Dale Steyn. He wants to become a fast bowler like him and hopefully represent South-Africa. Therefore, to fulfill this hobby that later became an undying passion and a Dream come true he plays in his backyard everyday with his friends.
It's 12 in the afternoon and Little George is thirsty. He goes inside and asks "Mum, I'm thirsty can I have some water." She replies,"Yes, of course, Sweetheart. Here you go."
After drinking water George rushes back into the backyard only to find that 2 out of his 5 mates had left without informing him.
Well at least the rest of you'll are playing right.
Nah. They replied.
It's too hot outside and we're going home.
Hehehe. Nevermind, I have my phone and a cricket ball. I'll just practice my run-up and action.
After 30 mins. his Dad arrives from his business meeting.
"Hey little Georgy why are you all alone here." asked his Dad.
George replied,"None of my mates wanted to play in this heat. Therefore, I'm practicing all by myself. I'm going to become like Dale Steyn one day."
Impressed by his dedication his dad told him that if he wanted he could get him enrolled in one of those fancy academies in Cape Town.
But daddy that will be very expensive for you. Wouldn't it??
Hahahaha. Chuckled his Dad. Did you forget that I own my OWN BUSINESS. If I can't even do this much for you then I don't think so I deserve to be called your Dad.
Awesome. When do we go there then Daddy??
Okay, let me freshen up and then we'll get there by 3. Deal? Reallllllllllllllly. Yesssssssss.
Watch out Dale Steyn here I come. Hahaha.
After a scrumptious brunch both Dad and George head straight to the Pace Bowlers Academy that's just a 20 mins. driving distance from his house.
Alright, Champ. Let's buckle up and get moving shall we?? Awesome said George.
20 mins. later they arrived at their destination.
Fortunately, the Head Coach Mark Henry turned out to be the best friend of George's Dad.
Hey, John how are you doing today?? And more importantly what brings you here today.
Hey, Mark. First of all I'm doing great and the reason for my visit is that my son wants to become like Dale Steyn. Can you help him fulfill his dream??
Sigh. I can't promise anything but I can give it my all. Now because you're my childhood friend the least I could do is offer you a 50% discount over our annual membership. How does that sound??
Ooh. Splendid. I highly appreciate that offer Mark. Thank you so so much for that.
Alright, now let's get Little Georgy training shall we. I'll give you the cheque by tomorrow evening. Will that do??
Yeah, that would be great.
Okay, sweetheart. Now I'm off home. You take care and follow all the instructions properly. Okay!!
And if you have any problems, questions, worries, etc just tell them to Uncle Mark. He'll look into it. Be a good boy and behave yourself.
Have fun sweetie. I'll be back in 2 hours.
Alright. Bye dad.
So for today, Georgy we'll just see what you got then we'll take it on from there.
Okay, Uncle Mark.
Bam the first ball 70 KPH(Kilometers per hour). Whatttt.
Hahahaha. We have kids older than you and they're struggling to reach the 60 KPH mark.
And your first ball is at 70 KPH.
HAHAHAHA. Man your a gifted lad.
By the way who's you're inspiration??
Dale Steyn. Kind Sir.
I see. No wonder your first ball was that fast for a child who is only 10 years old.
Yup. I can see the resemblance in action too.
Alright, Georgy if you can keep this up then you might have a shot at the Nationals in 6 years time.
Really. You mean I'll get to play along side Dale Steyn. Ooohhhh. That would be the best thing ever.
Alright, alright let's not get too cocky here.
Come on I need an over( 6 balls in a row ) from you.
70,70,65,70,80,60.
Ooh my God. Hey Chris, I think we've got a talent here. Let's polish his skills and try for the Juniors in 5 months.
You got it.
Okay. You seriously are a talent little George. Keep this up and you might be able to play along side Dale Steyn one day.
Now go there and run 3 laps. Then go do stretches and get back here.
Aye, aye, Sir.
After 20 mins. George reported back to his bowling net ( the place where you practice bowling ).
"Come on, I need another over." said Mark.
70,65,65,60,50,50.
Ooh. Looks like we need to work on some stamina here.
Okay. Let's see what we can do.
I'll write you down some stuff eat and drink that along with some exercises. Practice them for an hour besides this practice session. Otherwise, you ain't going nowhere. Okay, Sir.
"Alright. Pack-up. Time to leave." said Chris.
Oye, Georgy.
Hi Daddy. So you had fun. Loads. I even got a compliment for my bowling speed.
Really. How did he do Mark??
Well I gotta hand it you John. Your little bloke here is quite a talent. His first ball was 70 KPH and he even hit 80.
Whatttt.
Seriously. Boy-o-boy. Well done. Little fella.
🖐️ High-five.
So you think he has it in him??
"I think so, Yes." remarked Mark.
Okay. Now I've given him a little something he needs to follow if he ought to make it to the Juniors. If he doesn't follow it then I'm sorry.
Okay. You heard him little Georgy.
Loud and clear, Daddy.
That's my boy.
"Okay. Let's get packing. Shall we??" exclaimed Mark.
Yeah. Of course. Have a great day ahead Mark.
You too Man.
Although, I don't need to remind you. But still, send the cheque of Zar10000 to my account by tomorrow evening.
Making a weird looking face John said,"Yeah, sure."
"My God for a 10 year old boy you sure back some wallop. Eh??" said Georges Dad in the car.
Hehehe.
Awesome, looks like this decision was good for you.
So, let me hear the special instructions you need to follow??
Okay. First I'm supposed to drink water mixed with electrolyte powder atleast once a day. The grown-ups need 3 glasses but I've been restricted to one. Then I need to eat more fruits like bananas, strawberries, cherries, etc, along with normal food and practice 10 push ups along side running 3 miles everyday.
Oooohhhh, that's a lot of work for someone of your age. You sure you can handle it.
Yup. No problemo.
Ooh. That's like my little boy.
So fast-forwarding 5 months into the story. George can now maintain a consistent off-stump line and full length along with a speed of 90/100 KPH. Besides that his stamina has improved by leaps and bounds. He can now run for 3 hours on the field in comparison to the 40 mins. since he first began his journey to become like Dale Steyn.
His Coach Mark is very proud of his progress for now. Therefore, he wants George to be the vice-captain of the team for the Juniors. Georgy gladly accepts that offer.
So the Junior tournament a.k.a under-12 tournament begins and George performs exceptionally well. He takes 20 wickets in the entire season along with 4 catches and 6 run- outs. Let's not forget the tens of thousands of time he dived and stopped singles and boundaries.
Even though, our Georgy had a great tournament, Mark was not at all impressed by his performance. He wanted George to take a minimum of 30 wickets which he had missed out on by a long-shot.
However, bearing in mind the exponential growth he had displayed and the untapped caliber within him, Mark decided to take a gamble.
He decided George was going to play at the under-16 level and if he performed well he might eye for the under-19 State Team.
This put a lot of pressure on George's shoulders as he had to balance school and practice together. However, for some reason instead of succumbing to it he performed exceptionally well in the tournament.
Everyone, present at the tournament witnessed a dazzling displaying of both fast bowling and fielding. At the end of the Under-16's Georgy had figures of 50/200( 50 wickets taken by giving away 200 runs. )
Quite impressive, thought Mark.
Let's see how he does in the Under-19's.
Before we begin let's take a moment to remember that he( i.e. George ) is still 11 years of age.
Moving on...
The Under 19's began in the Month of May and ended in the month of July.
Unfortunately, our little Georgy had only managed to take 10 wickets in comparison to 50 in the Under-16's.
At the end of March when everyone was getting ready to go home, Mark suddenly called George.
Oye, Georgy come here.
Yes, Coach.
I'm very impressed by your performance. In a years worth of time you have accomplished that what these big blokes over can only dream of.
Okay, now rest for 2 months.
We'll get back to training after that.
Yes, Coach.
He calls his Dad and asks him to come pick him up from the National Stadium Academy.
After 30 mins. his dad arrived at the scene.
"John my man give me a big tight hug." says Mark.
Your lad has exceeded all of my expectations. Seriously, what did Mrs. Smith eat before giving birth to him. Lol.
Hahahaha. Both of them chuckled. I don't know what she had eaten but she is fond of drinking almond milk and eating bananas.
Probably, that's why his brain works so fast and his stamina is exceptional.
Maybe.
Alright, now take him home and make sure that he doesn't practice for 2 months. Monitor what he eats and drinks as well.
I think so we've a PRODIGY with us here.
I hope so too.
After 2 months, Georgy trains an entire year and makes it to the State team.
He is now the youngest South-African to make it to the state team. Take that Dale Steyn. Lol.
12 years old and a member of the State-team.
Awesome.
Now, fast forwarding 2 years into the future.
All George has been doing is studying and training like clockwork.
Getting up by 5 and training for an hour. This session includes a 5 mile hike, 4 sprints, 10 push-ups and sit-ups all performed in an hour.
He then drinks his electrolyte powdered water and has his breakfast. After this George leaves for school and tries to finish his homework during recess and in free-time. In the evening he finishes the rest of the homework.
Hereafter, he gets ready for practice by 6 and returns by 9. After this he cleans-up, does the laundry and packs for the next day. This is followed by eating supper and then night-night by 11.
A similar routine is followed the next day and has been adhered to until now.
As a result of all this commitment, daddy's money and his Coach's methodology; George finally makes it to the National South-African Cricket team by the age of 16.
He has stood against all odds and made his dream come true.
His Mom,Dad and Coach Mark are exceptionally proud of him.
George enters the dressing room and is welcomed by the team for his Debut match.
He quietly walks up to Dale Steyn and whispers in his ears,"You know what, Uncle Mark had told me that this would happen. Look it's happening. Lol."
Hahahaha. Cheers to your Uncle Mark then.
Ooh my God. I'm really going to play with Dale Steyn. Yesssssssss.
Looks like you've earned yourself a fan. Eh, Dale. Hahaha.
I guess so...
Now with that we have with us another example of a person that has defied the odds and made his dream come true.
Congratulations, George John Smith.
👏👏👏👏.
So long-story short.
If George can defy the odds and make his dreams come true then what's stopping you from fulfilling your Fitness Goals.

But you didn't answer my question. If George can defy the odds and make his dreams come true then what's stopping you from fulfilling your Fitness Goals.
