Spicy mulled wine. Interesting work with the background

Still lifes I do not like to draw. If it's some kind of fruit - then you have to look at them ... and you can not eat)) If some vegetables, it's not very interesting to draw. Therefore, such topics do not suit me very much. But there is no choice, and today I paint mulled wine with fruit.

I paint with watercolor "Nevskaya Palitra": Prussian blue, scarlet, cadmium yellow medium, cadmium orange, sepia, purple carmine, red light karplak, olive and emerald green. And in front of me is cotton paper Saunders Waterford.

First a pencil sketch with details. When I drew, for some reason the video of this part was not preserved. I was so upset. So I'll try to tell you more. First you need to outline all the elements of the future picture with simple geometric figures: a rectangle for a glass, a circle for tangerines and triangles for lobules. When all elements fit in the right way, you can proceed to a detailed study. To do this, I mark the axis of symmetry of the glass and from it I build all the elements, paying attention to the ratio of height and width. When the construction is completed I turn to the highlights: it is necessary to note all the glare on the glass, so that it would be easier to draw them.

Now you can take a watercolor. I'll start with the background. To do this, I'll show the Prussian blue with the violet. It takes a lot of paint, a lot. I have cuvettes, and if there were tubas, things would have gone faster. I turn the sheet over and slowly fill it with color. On a damp background it is necessary to have time to make a smoke over a glass, for what I use a spray. I wash out excess paint and move a little watercolor with a synthetic brush. In some places, I did not manage to do as I wanted. But in general, the smoke was a success))

Then I turn to the glass. First glare, because everything else. In a piece I collect a picture, paying attention to the color ratio of fruit in the glass and glass. And when I turn to the fruits on the table - I draw carelessly, as if there is something there, but it does not interest me)) Although in fact, this is the case!
