Achievement 6 Task by @amadems: Understanding Curation and Community

To this wonderful community, I am here to present my achievement 6 task on understanding curation and community.

Task :
Do you understand how voting and curation work in steemit?

Yes, voting and curation are the ways the steem blockchain rewards its users that drops quality contents in the steemit community. Just the same way facebook, Instagram and other social networks like posts or images that appeal to them. In the same way, users in the steemit community votes on quality contents and there is a reward from the system which is shared evenly amongst the writer (author) of the post and the curator.

The reward is distributed 50% to the curator while 50% goes to the author of the post. It is also important to note that there is a ratio out of this percentage that goes back into the reward pool. This is all achieved through the voting mana.

Voting mana is likened to an energy bar always at 100% for every steem user. It reduces as the the user votes in the community and as one uses more of their voting mana, the votes will have a lesser impact. Voting mana is recharged daily at 20% by network.

What happened if you vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting?

Vote on posts are rewarded and shared 50:50 equally between the writer (author) and the curator. That is 50% goes to the author and 50% to the curator of a post. The following happens and the reward pattern follows the same when a post is voted before 5 minutes after posting:

If it's at the time of posting, 100% of the duration reward remains in the reward pool.

At 1 minute, 20% goes to the curator of the post meanwhile 80% remains in the reward pool.

At 2 minutes, 40% goes to the curator of the post meanwhile 60% remains in the reward pool.

At 3 minutes, 60% goes to the curator of the post meanwhile 40% remains in the reward pool.

At 4 minutes, 80% goes to the curator of the post meanwhile 20% remains in the reward pool.

Who will you vote for Steem Witness? and Why?

For Steem witness, I will vote @Cryptokannon for the wonderful work she is doing for all newbies via the newcomers' community. Her posts are all educative and gives a lot of guidance to newbies in the steemit community.

I will also vote the creator of steemworld @Steemchiller. Honestly, my review of steemworld.org enlightened me on the best way to use and manage my steem account especially using the tools designed by @Steemchiller and made available in the steem world.

Which community will you join in steemit, and why?

I have joined some communities like

• SteemitCryptoAcademy to broaden my knowledge about Cryptos, Newcomers' Community for my active participation and being informed on all I need to know and do as a newbie in the steemit community.

• Steemit Nursery and financial Security because of the contents from the community
  I intend to join steemworld and others that will interest me and I hope to boost my knowledge through them and interact more with other users within the community.

I am glad, I have come to the end of my achievement tasks 1 - 6 and I must say that it has been an amazing experience through all this journey. I thank @cryptokannon and @xkool24.
