Castle mill in Hallwyl

For centuries the castle mill supplied the people with meal. The miller explains how waterwheels and grinding gears work together. The mill was always a special place.

In the background Hallwyl Castle, one of the most beautiful and romantic moated castles in Switzerland, is situated on the outflow of Lake Hallwil in the Aargau Seetal. It was built in the 12th century and was owned by the von Hallwyl family until the 20th century.
