Darryn

So.
My first daughter Darryn, was born on this day in 2002.
When she was born, seeing as I had boys first I said to the doc "they fucked up, she has balls!"

Anywho
She's the only one of my kids that I had full naming control over. So her name Darryn, was from singer Darren Hayes. She was going to be a Darryn either way.
Angelina was from the poster of Gone in 60 seconds that I had over my bed. I thought Angelina would fit with Darryn. Then Jaden was something I tossed in.

I was told by my mom to name her Olga, after her mother. Not a chance. I've never EVER been into the "traditional names" (although my son David was named after my then partners dead cousin)... so, ya know.

That, and my son Nicolas is named after Nicolas Cage. The ex and I fully agreed on that one. David and Austin and Kailani were all chosen by their fathers.

So yeah. Darryn was chosen by me. She was fought and still fought for by me.

She tried coming out early three times. All three times I ended up in the hospital. I was so drugged up when they checked her and said "she's a girl" I went "whoo-hoo"

So yeah, happy birthday kiddo.
