Did you know this? Food producers use shellac on apples, so they look shiny! Shellac is made by the insect Laccifer lacca. This might sound disgusting and scary but it is used to make dentures and other dental products. It doesn’t come off even if you wash apples. As far as I researched, it is ok to eat with the skin but me personally always peel the skin and whenever I see ugly apples even the ones with maggot trails, I bought them because then you know it is all natural! .
What do you guys think? Does anyone know anything about wax on apples? Are they safe to eat? I would like you to share your knowledge so we all can be healthier together!❤.
