Steemit Engagement Challenge (SEC) WK14:#1: Neglect in families, effects on kids

It's always sad and frustrating when we're neglected being it our family member or not. So many beggers we see along the road side, do you think most of them enjoy doing that? No, it's because they're neglected by their family member, no attention no care, so they have no choice but to find a way for themselves. I really love this contest and I'll also like to share my entry about being neglected.

Each and every member of the family has their own duties and obligations that's expected to be fulfilled so as strengthen the strong bond of family relationship, failure to perform these duties and obligations is called neglect of responsibilities in a family. People do think it's all about neglecting a child only, no it also involves emotional support, financial support and even household chores. This is very crucial because neglect of responsibilities in a family can lead to potential strain on family relationship.

I've seen someone who has been neglected. There's one girl that lives in our area called Stella. She was a very beautiful and good looking girl but she was neglected by her family member for no reason at all. Most of the times, she begs men for money so as to survive daily, it was so sad seeing a beautiful young girl being neglected not by someone else but her blood 😞. As if that was enough, they threw her out of the house. Stella had nowhere to go to, so i discussed with my parents about the situation and i took her into our home.

After some months, her family members knew that she's staying with us, they were so furious because they wanted her to live a street life. One faithful day, they came apologizing for everything and they promised to take care of her financially, emotionally and also support her, so we release the girl since it was their family. You won't believe what happened next after some weeks of taking the girl back home.

It was one Sunday morning that we heard some rumors about a young girl being knocked down by a car. Guess who died that day? It was stella😭. They flocked her that morning, so when she was trying to run for safety, a car knocked her down, hmmm so sad and emotional. Being neglected has a very bad effects on the kids.

I don't have much to say about this, the only advice I'll give parents who neglect their responsibilities towards their kids is to stop all that because it'll only cause pains not happiness. They should try as much as possible to take care of their kids, support them emotionally and financially. I'm sure a responsible parents will heed this advice.

What happened to Stella made me understand the feelings of being neglected. My advice for the kids who are neglected is for them to look for solution on how the neglect can stop instead of running from it. I think if Stella sat their parents down and discuss with them how she felt she wouldn't have lost her life.

Dear parents/kids, please we should all know that neglect can lead to family dismantlement and can also take one's life. Each and every one of us in our family has a significant role to play so as to avoid this, so we should do that by pampering our kids and also supporting them. Stay safe dear parents/kids, i love you all❣️
