CARRIBEAN JERK PEACH SAUCE RECIPE

A homemade hot sauce recipe made with fiery chili oil, fresh peaches and jerk seasonings for a bit of island flare in a bottle.

Perfect for chicken or shrimp.

This sauce is not for the weak ones!

Its spicy, flavourful and will keep you wanting more. The hot sauce should keep a few months in the fridge, or even longer.

Use the hot sauce on anything and with everything.

It is super easy to make, under 30 min and will be better to have a home made version than store bought one.

Ingredients

2-4 tablespoons chilly peppercorn oil ( you can add more)
1 medium onion, chopped
2 peaches, peeled, pitted and chopped
1 cup apple cider vinegar
½ cup water or more to your desired consistency
1 tablespoon jerk seasoning blend (I made my own)
1 tablespoon brown sugar

Jerk Seasoning Blend ( home made )

1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 to 3 teaspoons cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 teaspoons dried parsley
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

Step 1 : Heat a pot to medium heat. Add your chilly peppercorn oil and heat through.

Step 2 : Add diced onion and stir. Cook down about 6-7 minutes, until softened.

Step 3 : Add peaches and cook for another 2-3 minutes to soften.

Step 4 : Add vinegar, water, jerk seasoning and brown sugar. Stir until dissolved.

Step 5 : Reduce heat and simmer about 10 minutes to allow flavors to develop.Step 6 : Cool and pour into bottles. Enjoy!

Im not really a fan of peach but I think it looks very good good on the shrimp. I might have to give it a try!!!

heheheh yeah do it!! cant really taste the peach too much! it just adds the overall flavour!

Peachy and Spicy?! Sounds and looks incredible! Thanks for sharing :)

hehehe thanks :) enjoy!!

Thank you, hope you have a wonderful 4th of July!

Thanks so much for the recipe. I love hot and spicy food. For the peaches, can I substitute canned peaches for them? I'm currently in a country where it's rather difficult to get fresh ones at the moment.

hehe you are welcome :))) yeah you can for sure! :)

Thanks so much for your response. That's great, I was worried that the light syrup the peaches are canned in might affect the flavor of the sauce too much.

I love a good hot sauce. Especially home made. There's a lot of character in this kind of recipe, where you still have the pulp from the fruit and the peppers.

I'm a fan of the slow burn, not nuking your tastebuds until you can't taste anything. This sauce looks like a good candidate for some application on slow roasted pork ribs or dashed on a seared fish filet.

Excellent!

yes it really is! and this isn't like hot you gonna die and cant taste anything! it just a hint at the back of your throat ;)

looks like for cleaning stomach

Wow now that's a pretty fiery recipe for a 4th of July! Very cool that you made your own jerk seasoning Alla. I would love to apply this hot sauce on some well-done steak or ribs fresh off the grill. Excellent and very creative recipe - thanks for sharing Alla!

Wow! Looks spicy!!! 🌶🌶🌶

That looks super yummy, love myself some jerk chicken!

heheheh yes who doesn't right :P

All this delicious food reminds me about home and the food that my mom was preparing for us. Thank you.
