Introducing Myself - Steele
Friends, Steemiters, countrymen, lend me your ears;
My name is Allan Steele. I am a brand-new Steemit user, as ignorant about this world as a newborn babe. I have never done any kind of serious blogging before but someone I know with a reputation for prescience seemed to think this site is big stuff. So here I am!
I am a professional classical musician by trade, but my interests and hobbies are varied, ranging from gourmet cooking to philosophy to self-help writing to cultural/political commentary and many other things.
I have often thought about putting down my thoughts and discussions on an online forum of some kind where I could receive feedback, but this is my first attempt. I am going to keep up a weekly post at first, regarding current events and various cultural observations, and then adapt with the feedback I receive.
I would like to ask you for some advice and then some general thoughts. Although I will be foraging this site in an attempt to get to know it better, I prefer getting information from individuals in a conversation.
Firstly, if you have any great tips regarding use of the site, whether technical or etiquette, I am all ears.
Secondly, if you have a particular topic that you feel is not discussed to the degree it should be, I am extremely interested to hear about it, and I will try my best to weave it into my output.
Thirdly, thank you for reading! And I hope you continue to read my posts, as I can assure you they will be stimulating beyond the capabilities of the human mind, and failure to give me money will result in a life filled with utter nihilism and despair in which all of your passions and dreams collapse into ash.

Glad you are on steemit. I look forward to reading your posts. One thing I learned from being on here for an entire 12 days is to try and get some followers before you post your masterpiece posts. You will get paid on your rewards after 7 days. Dont get disapointed if you dont see the numbers that you were expecting. I bought a little steem last week and it has already gone up. There is a ton of youtube videos that explain in detail the steem/steempower/steemdollar relationship. Good luck!

You had me at classical music! I would like to see some of that! Music on here is a bit...spread thin. Most of the music community so far is originals and covers that people perform on guitar, not too much variety. The number to the right of your name is important! If you want that to go up, which you do, then putting out great content is important, but what's more important is commenting! Lots of commenting! Find a category or two that you like and engage with posters. That will help you immensely! Glad to have come across your post! Good luck!
Thank you for the tip! I will experiment a bit with content until I find a niche that fits me, or perhaps I will just keep it eclectic. But I will certainly post a video or two now that I know I have at least one audience member!
