Camping fun spring action gun
Gamers will be very familiar with campers. You know that snipers are nasty opponents. Blending in with the environment, looking through their scope, aiming their spring snipers rifle at you.

Platforms that run the spring system are affordable and have a low magnetic cost. All sorts of weapon types have them. But not all make sense. For example, a machine gun. You fire the damn thing and have to reset the system and fire again, instead of just pulling the trigger and letting does bb go. The spring system is for shotguns and bolt action rifles. It makes perfect sense if you ask me. No battery, no gas, just the spring and your muscles.

It's basically the same thing as an air rifle
All the power is coming from the coil spring. That spring drives a piston air pump which you realise when pulling the trigger. All that compressed air from the cylinder pushes the BB down the barrel. You fire a shot and reset the system to take another one. While pulling the bolt back and forth you're compressing the spring and chambering a bb into the barrel. It's that simple. Unfortunately, there is no full auto or semi-auto mode. The advantage of using spring powered replicas is, as I mentioned, there are inexpensive. Well, most of them are, they're easy to maintain. Best of all is that they are water resistant, so rainy days won't mass up your game. Another advantage is muzzle velocity, you can get plenty with a spring rifle. You're looking from 400 to 650 FPS (feet per second). That power will allow you to hit your opponents from distance. That exact power cannot be used to shoot opponents in 15 meters range. You have to keep in mind that there are rules to Airsoft. Every Airsoft association in the world follow the same rules. Another plus is that you can tune or fine tune it completely. Swooping inner barrels, replacing springs, fence trigger or a better scope. It can get pricey when it comes to furniture. I mean Bipods, slings, scopes, suppressors and GoPro mounts. So even an entry-level replica can empty your pockets.

Cotton Eye Joes shotgun
The shotgun replica is also fun to play with. It's spring driven like the bolt action ones. With one exception: some of the shotgun replicas have tree barrels. Which makes a lot of sense. Wouldn't you agree on that rather than on one barrel? With one trigger pull, you shot tree bbs at ones. It's not that close to a real steel one, though. These things are even more affordable due to the cheap building quality. What that means is that it will not last long, which is not a problem at all if you just get an expansive one. Some have an ability to double reload it won't make it stronger. It will shot twice as more bb, instead of 3 you shot 6 down range. This is important to know while shooting 6 bbs: your effective range is going down. By the way, to make it a little more authentic, you load one shell, that is the magazine, into the gun.The magazine or shell holds 40 bbs, so five shells are plenty for a normal game. Unless you go full Rambo style and just shot without aiming. G&P has really solid shotgun replicas, the Remington 870. It has full metal design and is reliable. Some real steel parts are fitting on it. Unfortenly this replica shots only one bb at a time, not 3 bbs.

Other spring powered guns
If you're into that sorts of stuff there are pistols, rifles and SMGs in the spring powered family. As for the pistol, it is not a bad idea to have one just as a spare. I could let that one slide but an AK 74u with no burst mode, that's just wrong. You can't do that to a replica. But that is just my opinion on the mater. If you're interested in entering airsoft and love to play the role of a sniper go for the spring rifle.
Important to know
The most important thing in airsoft is to wear full sealed eye protection or a mask that covers the whole face. Neck and ears are also painful spots, make sure to cover those but you don't really have to be dressed as a 21st-century soldier. If you're into it you can even dress up like Captain Jack Sparrow and run around with two Uzies. The choice is yours but never forget to carry your toy in a bag. Some law enforcement agencies have a bad habit to shoot first and then ask questions later. Don't make that mistake. Also, use your airsoft replicas only at areas designed for that.
