Master of Science in Nutritional Science
Hey foodies!
Sorry for being so absent recently. But I was really busy this week because of my master thesis presentation on Friday. I'm so glad that everything worked out fine. I got an A on the master thesis itself and an A on the presentation and discussion (master thesis defense). Now, I'm officially Master of Science in Nutritional Science.
My study colleagues and friends received me with sparkling wine and presents after the master thesis defense. It was such a great day. Here you can see what I looked like afterwards. No, I'm not a clown. That's the way a master graduate looks like. :D
My master thesis topic was "Dietary change after the cancer diagnosis". Studies demonstrate that the cancer diagnosis is affecting individuals believe that their diet has a great impact on the disease. After the diagnosis, many of them change their diets not only to improve their health status but also to gain control over the cancer disease itself.
The results of my master thesis suggest that cancer patients clearly show interest in a vegetarian and/or vegan diet and often adopt a plant based diet to influence the disease positively. Moreover, the time after the cancer diagnosis represents a “teachable moment” for cancer patients and should be used to implement intervention studies and health-promoting measures that facilitate already existing initiatives and, on the other hand, encourage those who are not willing to change their diet.
Congratulations @alinalisa!
Keep rocking!

Thank you so much @awesome-seven! :)
Congrats! I am sure that was very hard work
Thank you so much @gringalicious! Yes, it was. But it was a great time. :)
congrats on your thesis. It sounds extremely interested. I have heard of many people adopting plantbased lifestyles to increase their health or positively effect it in the least. Is it well known scientifically to also improve cancer patients health? What about cure it? Congrats! So exciting to find people on steemit with the same interests!
Thank you @megnteglbjaerg! You're totally right with that. Plant based diets in the therapeutic setting is a new topic that is very interesting for the future. The prevalence of cancer survivors is rising and we need methods to enhance their quality of life. In my opinion, diet is really important in this case.
I'm also excited to find people with these interests on steemit. :)
