The key to visiting Versaille is to remember that it is outside of the city of Paris. Leave enough time in the morning to take the train so that you have enough time to see both the inside of the palace as well as the gardens. Pack a lunch for the gardens and enjoy! Like @alinabarbu said, the gardens are huge!
Thats excellent information its a definite we should visit
We have been watching the tv series at the present and thought it looked a beautiful place https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Versailles_(TV_series)
It is really impressive. The interior is completely decorated, mostly in gold and the ceilings are all mosaics. It's set up...well, for a king! Glad you're watching the series so that you kind of know what you want to see there. Stop at the front when you enter and get one of the free guides, they help too. You may find yourself getting lost inside so keep track of time so that you can see the gardens as well. The gardens do stay open about another half hour after the interior so do them last.
I love taking pictures in Versailles, as well as the gardens of the Louvre in Paris. I saw your Champs Elysees/Arc de Triomphe photo earlier, did you get a chance to visit Paris recently?
I'd been to Louvre too. I visited a lot, as I stayed there for about three weeks, but it was a few years ago. I haven't been there since then :) hope to get back someday soon.
Yes, I know how you feel. I've spent quite some time in Paris as I was a french student in University. The Louvre has free admission the first Sunday of every month. Also, if you enter the underground shopping mall, then there is an entrance to the Louvre there and the line is MUCH shorter to get in. I really love Paris, sorry for all the information spamming on your pretty Versailles Garden Post!
No worries - valuable information. I know they have plenty of gratuities for youngsters and students :D I had some too. Louvre is gorgeous every time, you can not get bored of it. I spent almost an entire day there and I still had a lot more to see. I hope to get back to Paris pretty soon - for a short city-break
I agree the Louvre is wonderful, and there is never enough time to see everything. If you like the impressionist painters then you need to go to the Musee D'Orsay. I hope to see many more photos from your trip when you go back to Paris.
Wait...what? No flowers? :)
Haha :)) no flowers for today 😁
Ohh well...still beautiful :)
:)
Really want to go and visit Versaille
You should. It's really nice. The gardens are awesome during spring & summer. I spent there almost one full day. It's a huge domain
Sound like a plan we need to make thank you
You're welcome
