Wind power isn't a new technology.
As humanity searches for cleaner and pollutant free energy we are returning to one of the most ancient power sources.
Wind power isn't a new thing and for thousands of years it was used to travel vast distances. From the most ancient of civilisations harnessing the power of the wind via sails was used to power economies and trade. From ancient Egypt through to the discoveries around the globe of the America and Australia it was down to wind power. (Having European explorers turning up to 'discover' new lands was a great benefit to the people who already lived there and never realised they lived on land.)
It is only in recent times that we have moved away from the great tall ships to new power sources and with the threat to the environment caused by the energy we generate wind power could again return to power our future, just as it powered our past.

I also agree that we need to be using wind power, and solar power as well. I love that tall ship - I have seen beautiful tall ships several times here in Canada - and it's always very special!
We actually have a small wind turbine that charges one of our batteries 😁
I agree that wind power needs to come to the forefront again. I am going to build wind generators for the homestead.Our power here just keeps going up and we don't have good service either.
I work in solar and although I'm not entirely in love with work, I do at least have that satisfaction. I don't know a ton about wind power, but I do think it is cool, and I did teach sailing once upon a time, ha!
