Flowers and tidying up the patio.
The lilies continue to come into bloom on the decking and I'm hoping they will all be in flower by the end of the weekend. meanwhile I'm trying to sort out the patio area and will be doing some tip runs today to get rid of some rubbish.
When we first moved into the house I planted a twig that I was told was a grape vine, with hindsight I put in in the wrong place as it tends to take over the patio if you don't trim it back each week. yesterday I pruned it back to clear some room on the patio so I can sort the area out ready for BBQ's this weekend.
We never get any grapes off the vine as they don't swell but it gives the birds that come to the garden an added food source over the winter.
Sounds like the grape vine we had by our pool when we lived in California for a couple of years. Never did get a single grape, but the birds loved it.
It's good for covering the wall and brightening up what would otherwise be a drab area of the patio.
I can see that, kind of like having a little bit of ivy against the wall to break-up the drabness of a bunch of bricks.
